Tryst Hospitality is set to expand its presence to Brazil with The Tryst Ipanema hotel, scheduled to open in 2026.
Located at R. Farme de Amoedo, 34, Ipanema, Rio De Janeiro, the hotel will transform the former Golden Tulip Ipanema Plaza creating a destination for LGBTQ+ travellers.
The 18-storey hotel will combine design, nightlife and five-star service offering a unique experience for discerning guests.
Designed by the team behind The Tryst Puerto Vallarta, the hotel will feature a rooftop infinity pool on the 18th floor and a signature restaurant blending Brazilian flavours with global inspiration.
With 140 rooms, it is set to become the largest Tryst Hotel globally.
The Tryst Ipanema will incorporate eco-friendly design, eliminate use of plastics and also prioritise partnerships with local minority-owned businesses.
Tryst Hospitality founder & CEO Tristan Schukraft said: “Brazilian men. Ipanema Beach. Rooftop pool parties. That midnight glance that turns into a sunrise rendezvous…with 24-hour room service. The Tryst Ipanema is creating a place you’ll never want to leave.
“Luxury is about more than thread counts and the best rooftop pool. It’s about being your true self. It’s about waking up in Ipanema, the gayest beach in the world, surrounded by sexy men and knowing you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.”
Tryst Hospitality is known for redefining LGBTQ+ travel with community-driven experiences in queer destinations like Puerto Vallarta, Fire Island, and San Juan.
The Tryst Fire Island is anticipated to launch next season, while The Tryst San Juan is set to open its doors in 2026.
Additionally, Circo, a gay nightclub in San Juan, is scheduled to reopen in 2025.
Schukraft added: “With every new destination, we’re creating spaces where LGBTQ+ travellers can be their best selves, even on their worst behaviour. Rio is the perfect city for our next adventure.”
