Hyatt Hotels has opened a new property under Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand in Shaoxing City, China, in partnership with Shenzhen Yuen Kai Hotel Management.

The Mumian Shaoxing Hotel is situated in the renovated former Shaoxing 871 Chip Factory.

Interior designer Ju Bin and his team Horizontal Design have retained the original skeletal truss structure of the former factory in the redesign.

It features 90 guest rooms, ranging from 484ft² to 2,206ft², across the second and third floors. The rooms overlook a central water courtyard, with corridors connected and offering a photo gallery.

The hotel features three distinct food and beverage outlets, two Chinese tea rooms, a fitness centre, a yoga studio, and a children's club.

Cultural concierges, known as Story Bloomers, offer experiences inspired by local culture while the hotel also offers traditional wūpéng boat experiences.

Situated at the foot of Fushan Mountain within the Shaoxing Place commercial complex, Mumian Shaoxing Hotel is at the centre of Yuecheng District.

It is conveniently located near Lu Xun Native Place, Sanwei Study, and a short drive from Shaoxing North Railway Station, Fushan Park, and the Xu Wei Art Museum.

Mumian Shaoxing Hotel general manager Demos Luo said: "Mumian Shaoxing Hotel represents a new chapter in cultural hospitality with a modern flare for this ancient city.

"As the first Mumian property in Shaoxing, we’ve woven Shaoxing’s rich heritage into every detail where every stay becomes a cultural journey. Through our signature 'Story Bloomers' programme and thoughtfully designed spaces that blend heritage with contemporary artistry, we invite travellers to experience Shaoxing's soul and create their own story-worthy experience during their stay at Mumian Shaoxing Hotel."

This opening follows the launch of a Hyatt Centric property in Xiamen, China, earlier this year.
