Luxury hotel group Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has bolstered its global leadership team with four new appointments as the company undergoes accelerated brand growth.

The addition of four new members follows the recent appointment of Arash Azarbarzin as chief executive officer to guide the brand’s international growth and operational expansion.

Under Azarbarzin’s direction, Viceroy is engaged in several new resort openings and residential developments worldwide, together with new partnerships across its portfolio.

According to the company, the new hires bring experience in commercial strategy, luxury sales, marketing, wellness, and food and beverage. This group strengthens Viceroy’s position for growth and supports its focus on guest experiences.

Patrick Pahlke assumes the role of chief commercial officer while David Solis becomes vice president of global luxury and leisure sales. In addition, Megan Mulholland joins as senior vice president of brand marketing and wellness, and Shel Buhler has taken on the position of vice president of food and beverage.

Pahlke has handled commercial leadership roles at Sage Hospitality Group, Hyatt International, Two Roads Hospitality, and Proper Hospitality. He has experience in commercial strategy and brand development acquired from markets in Asia, Europe, and the US.

Solis held senior sales positions at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Edition Hotels, Virtuoso, Kerzner International, and Ultimate Jet Vacations. At Viceroy, he will direct luxury travel sales initiatives on a global scale.

Mulholland has previously worked at THE WELL and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. She will manage global brand strategy, marketing activities and wellness programming for Viceroy’s properties around the world.

Buhler had led brand strategy and communications at Aparium Hotels and served in leadership roles at Thompson Hotels, Destination Hotels, Joie de Vivre, and Alila. She now oversees food and beverage operations for the company.

Azarbarzin said: “Looking ahead, my focus will be on expanding Viceroy’s global footprint and setting new benchmarks for immersive hospitality, and ensuring every Viceroy destination creates lasting memories for our guests.”

The company recently opened Viceroy at Ombria Algarve in Portugal and announced projects underway in Sun Valley, Idaho, as well as planned launches in regions across the US, Mexico, Africa, and the Caribbean.
