Renaissance Hotels has reopened its Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, following a $40m renovation.

The year long programme, which started in 2014, included the renovation of the property’s interior and amenities, as well as preserving the hotel’s historic aspects.

The Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino is the third hotel in Marriott International’s Dominican Republic portfolio. The brand opened the JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo and the Courtyard Santo Domingo last year.

In September, Renaissance Hotels announced the opening of a new hotel in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, marking the opening of the group’s first property in north India.

With 16 floors and 112 rooms, the hotel is claimed to be the tallest hotel to open in Lucknow, India.
