High demand from corporate travellers has driven up room rates in the BRIC nations in the first half of 2011, according to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index.

Brazil’s room rates rose by 7% to £132, Russia’s rates were up 11% to £141, India’s rate increased by 2% to reach £85 and China’s rose by 4% to £92.

Room prices soared even higher in business hubs such as Sao Paulo, where rates rose by 27% to £123, while Singapore and Moscow saw their rates rise by 11% each to £130 and £157, respectively.
