Hospitality brand Accor has appointed Ranju Alex as CEO for South Asia, which covers India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, to boost regional business and growth.
Until recently, Alex has held the position of regional vice president for South Asia at Marriott International, overseeing more than 170 hotels in the region.

She embarked on her career with The Oberoi Group in 1993 and has since held numerous leadership roles at Marriott International throughout her 30-year-long professional journey.
Alex said: “I am delighted to join an organisation with the most comprehensive and exciting portfolio of brands in the region. It will be an honour to lead the group’s vision in this region, and I eagerly look forward to this exciting role.”
Earlier this year, a new joint venture was established between Accor and India’s travel conglomerate InterGlobe with the aim of merging their businesses into a single entity, subject to regulatory approval.
According to the two companies, the goal is to expand its network to encompass 300 hotels under Accor’s brands by 2030 through the new platform.
