IHG Hotels & Resorts brand Ruby has opened Ruby Frida in Stockholm, marking the brand’s first entry into the Swedish market.
The 187-room hotel is housed in a converted building that dates back to the 1960s.

The company said the accommodation combines Scandinavian design elements with the brand’s own style.
Ruby Group founder and CEO Michael Struck said: “Ruby Frida is closely connected to Stockholm’s creative spirit, with a design and atmosphere shaped by the city’s music heritage.
“It’s crafted to feel authentic to the city and easy to enjoy — a place that feels open, social and full of character, where guests and locals can come together and experience a place with real personality.”
Ruby Group will continue to oversee Ruby Frida’s development, design and daily operations.
The hotel is said to be a ten-minute public-transport ride from Stockholm Central Station and 40 minutes from Arlanda Airport via nearby direct airport coaches.
Ruby global brand management vice-president Lauren Krostue said: “At Ruby, every hotel starts with the city.
“With Ruby Frida, Stockholm’s creative rhythm has artfully been translated into design, where every detail draws from the city’s music heritage and cultural energy, while Ruby’s signature elements keep the experience characterful and unmistakably Ruby around the world.”
In February 2025, IHG acquired the Ruby brand and related intellectual property from Ruby SARL for an initial consideration of €110.5m ($116m).
