The hotel will be located in the capital’s Golden Triangle and comprise 268 suites.
Accommodation will range from one-bedroom suites of 80m² to the 745m² Waldorf Astoria Suite.
The property has been designed to cater to both short-term visitors and those seeking extended stays.
Over the coming months, the Kuala Lumpur hotel is expected to outline more details of its planned food and beverage, wellness and social offerings.
Dining is set to centre on several concepts shaped by “global expertise”, including partnerships with chefs Garima Arora and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
Wellness facilities will include a Waldorf Astoria-branded spa alongside a contemporary wellness centre.
The hotel will also provide a range of venues intended for events, meetings and large-scale celebrations.
Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur general manager Etienne Dalançon said: “Now open for reservations, Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur marks the reawakening of a truly iconic address, reimagined for a new generation of discerning travellers.
“We look forward to welcoming our first guests as the hotel begins to come to life.”
In March this year, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal completed the final stage of its multi-year property renovation, resulting in upgraded guest accommodations and public areas across the hotel.
The project involved redesigning 112 rooms, suites, villas and casitas, introducing new in-room bars and custom metallic sea turtle installations by Preciado Iluminacion.
