Scandic Hotels Group has signed a long-term lease agreement with German real estate investment manager Union Investment to open its third hotel in Frankfurt.
Located next to Messe Frankfurt, the property will undergo a major refurbishment before reopening under the Scandic brand in 2027.

The overhaul will bring the hotel in line with Scandic’s brand and operational standards, including upgraded rooms and a modernised interior.
The property will feature 296 rooms, an all-day restaurant, a bar, and a 100m² outdoor terrace.
On the ground floor, the hotel will provide meeting and event facilities, with five rooms covering a total of 500m² for conferences, exhibitions and other functions.
Scandic Hotels Group chief development officer Jesper Engman said: “This new hotel is another step in our expansion in the German growth market, and we are pleased to broaden our successful cooperation with Union Investment.
“The hotel’s strategic location, strong business demand and future connectivity will create a competitive hotel in central Frankfurt.”
Located in northwestern Frankfurt, the new hotel will complement Scandic’s existing properties in the city. Together with Scandic Museumsufer in the south and Scandic Hafenpark in the east, the three sites will form a network around the city centre, covering key business, cultural, and tourist areas.
The company said the new hotel will be certified according to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
Scandic Hotels Group president and CEO Jens Mathiesen said: “With a third hotel in Frankfurt, we are strengthening our presence in one of Europe’s most important financial metropolitan regions, with strong year-round business activity and significant visitor flows.”
Last month. Scandic announced that it will add a new hotel property in Finnsnes, Norway, with the opening targeted for mid-2028.
