Hyatt noted that the upgrade is set to prioritise a new look and modern feel in the hotel’s communal areas and guest rooms.
Situated in Berlin’s City West, the property will offer 239 guest rooms and 39 suites. The hotel’s current private lounge will be retained and is expected to be converted into a Regency Club.
On-site facilities will also include the beef45 restaurant, two bars, a spa and pool, as well as around 2,600m² of event space spanning 18 venues.
Hotel Palace Berlin general manager Michael Frenzel said: “This collaboration will allow us to combine the unique character and quality of our hotel with the global strength of the Hyatt Regency brand.
“Together, we will offer even greater benefits to our guests, customers and employees while continuing the success story of our property.”
Once operational, the property is expected to become the fourth Hyatt Regency hotel in Germany, alongside Hyatt Regency Cologne, Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and Hyatt Regency Mainz.
Hyatt Northern Europe development director Gabriela Basovska said: “Hotel Palace Berlin has built an exceptional reputation over many years, and we’re excited to welcome it to the Hyatt Regency brand.
“Its prime City West location, premium hospitality and exceptional meeting facilities make it a natural fit for a brand built around bringing people together.”
