The tower was designed by Arguelles Architects drawing “inspiration” from the local coastal and waterfront environment.

The project includes a Mediterranean-style restaurant, a waterfront swimming pool, all-day cocktail bar, and reconfigured indoor and outdoor public areas.

In addition, the new building introduces approximately 4,500ft² of meeting and function space. This consists of a 1,300ft² meeting room, an 800ft² deck and a 2,400ft² venue located on the fourth floor providing views of the city and the Caribbean Sea.

These venues will operate alongside the property’s existing amenities, such as the K’IN Spa, BurnBox Gym, and Treehouse Restaurant.

Additionally, Fort George Hotel & Spa is also preparing for its planned transition to Fort George, Belize, Autograph Collection later this year.

Fort George Hotel & Spa hospitality vice-president Scott McArdle said: “This expansion represents one of the most significant milestones in Fort George’s history.

“While we’re nearly doubling the size of the hotel, our vision has never been simply to add more guest rooms.

“We’re building on Fort George’s legacy while creating new ways for travellers to experience the culture, character and hospitality of Belize City as an essential part of their Belize journey.”
