One of the Berlin properties, Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz by Leonardo Hotels, will first run as a white label before moving into the group’s brand portfolio after integration.

The site, formerly the H4 hotel, has 336 rooms and suites.

It also features a restaurant, bar, gym, sauna and 13 function rooms with capacity for more than 700 people.

The second Berlin site, Leonardo Smart Berlin Alexanderplatz, sits next door.

The former H2 Hotel has 288 rooms, a breakfast restaurant, a mini market, cycle hire and parking. Four-bed rooms are planned for families and groups.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the group is also adding hotels in Düsseldorf and Dortmund.

Leonardo Smart Düsseldorf, another former H2 Hotel, adds 250 rooms. The hotel includes a 280-seat restaurant, bar and parking, as well as double, twin, multi-bed and accessible rooms.

The deal increases Leonardo’s total in Düsseldorf to five hotels and makes it the first Leonardo Smart site in the state.

In Dortmund, Leonardo Royal Dortmund will operate opposite the Trade Fair and Congress Centre. The property has 166 rooms and suites, a restaurant with sun terrace, a bar and a spa area with sauna, steam bath and fitness facilities.

The Dortmund hotel is the group’s second site in the city. Renovation work is scheduled for next year, including wider modernisation and a redesign of guest rooms and public areas.

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe managing director Yoram Biton said: “Berlin, Düsseldorf and Dortmund are attractive markets for us, and demand from different segments is strong. These new hotels will allow us to expand our offer and to welcome even more guests to these important locations. We will also be bolstering our presence in the respective cities.”
