Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has entered an operating agreement with Adani Airport Holdings (AAHL) to manage eight properties totalling more than 2,000 rooms across four Indian aviation hubs.
Under the partnership, AAHL will construct the real estate assets while IHCL’s multi-brand hospitality portfolio will handle the operations.

The agreement encompasses three Taj properties, two Vivanta hotels, two Ginger sites, and one Gateway hotel, to provide accommodation across varied market segments.
The pipeline includes a Taj hotel currently being built at Mumbai Airport. In Ahmedabad, construction on a Taj property and a Vivanta hotel is already at an advanced stage.
The development will pair a Vivanta with a Ginger hotel in Lucknow. In Guwahati, the project will incorporate three separate brands, featuring a Taj, a Gateway, and a Ginger property.
IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “As India strengthens its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets, airport-centric developments are emerging as important commercial and hospitality hubs.
“Our partnership with Adani Airport Holdings Limited brings together two leading Indian companies with a shared vision to build India’s travel and tourism sector.”
The tie-up supports AAHL’s objective of establishing hotel-led, mixed-use commercial districts situated next to airport terminals and linked to their respective host cities.
Development is being handled through Adani Airport City, an entity formed by AAHL to oversee a land bank exceeding 655 acres across six airports in five states.
AAHL director Jeet Adani said: “Across the world, leading airports are evolving into integrated destinations that serve as catalysts for commerce, tourism and urban growth.
“Our partnership with IHCL is an important step in this journey, bringing together our hospitality-led mixed-use destinations and India’s leading hospitality company to create world-class hotels across key airport cities with its brands, including the iconic Taj.
“Together, we aim to strengthen the hospitality ecosystem within our Airport City developments and contribute to the long-term economic growth of the regions we serve.”
