In a statement, Meliá said the 171-room hotel has “direct beach access”. It features an all-day dining restaurant, bars, a gym and spa.
The statement added that a transition process is currently underway to align the property with the “standards and guest experience that define the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand”.
The move expands Meliá’s presence on Mallorca, where the company was founded, to 29 hotels.
Meliá Hotels International chairman and CEO Gabriel Escarrer said: “Celebrating 70 years while continuing to grow in Mallorca holds a very special meaning for us.
“This island is our home, the place where we were born and where we learnt that hospitality can become a powerful way of connecting people with their surroundings, local culture, and the Mediterranean lifestyle.
“Welcoming this hotel into our family allows us to keep investing in our roots while continuing to enhance the tourism offering in iconic destinations such as Cala Millor.”
Meliá Hotels International’s portfolio includes more than 400 operating and pipeline properties across over 40 countries.
In August, Meliá further expanded its presence in Vietnam by opening an upper-upscale resort between Turtle Island and Fairy Mountain.
