
Australia travel & tourism industry registered a 22.2% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 11% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.46% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 1.27% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia travel & tourism industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 43.04% in July 2021, a 26.09% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 29.11% share, an increase of 109.09% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.19%, registering a 71.43% rise from June 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.59%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 30.61% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia travel & tourism industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Tabcorp Holdings posted 27 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 22.73% over the previous month, followed by Flight Centre Travel Group with 12 jobs and a 140% growth. Virgin Australia Holdings with 12 IT jobs and Qantas Airways with 10 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 28.57% decline, respectively, while The Star Entertainment Group recorded a 50% an increase with 3 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.01%, up by 14.29% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.66% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.33% share, down 54.55% over June 2021.
