August 2021 has seen a decrease of 7.03% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.28% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 59.32% in August 2021, a flat growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 17.86% in August 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.25% in August 2021, a 10% rise from July 2021.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 35.44% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during August 2021 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 76 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 27.62% over the previous month, followed by Bet365 Group with 75 jobs and a flat growth. DSV Panalpina with 67 IT jobs and Deutsche Bahn with 61 jobs, recorded an 11.67% rise and a 45.24% rise, respectively, while Deutsche Lufthansa recorded a 40% increase with 42 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 34.16% share in August 2021, a 43.79% increase over July 2021. Germany featured next with a 24.69% share, up 24.22% over the previous month. Poland recorded a 9.47% share, a drop of 8.96% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.72%, up by 2.28% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 16.15% share, registered a growth of 9.47% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.66% share, down 4.35% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.47%, recording a month-on-month growth of 200%.
