US-based company Expedia Group’s IT hiring increased by 3.0% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.77% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 39.42% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 2.62% down over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Expedia Group IT hiring in July 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Expedia Group, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 86.32% in July 2021, and a 20.59% growth over June 2021, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 5.26% in July 2021, and registered a 44.44% decline. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 3.16% in July 2021, a 200% rise from June 2021.
North America drives IT hiring at Expedia Group
North America emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 56.84% share, which marked a 45.95% growth over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 27.37%, registering a 27.78% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 15.79% share and a 66.67% growth over June 2021.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 56.84% share in July 2021, a 45.95% growth over June 2021. India featured next with a 27.37% share, flat growth over the previous month. United Kingdom recorded a 13.68% share, an increase of 85.71% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Expedia Group IT hiring activity in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60%, down by 3.39% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.21% share, a growth of 109.09% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.74% share, up 16.67% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.05%, recording a month-on-month a flat growth.
