Germany’s travel & tourism industry registered a 10.4% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.51% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.57% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.72% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s travel & tourism industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.01% in August 2021, registering a 42.65% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 23.27% share, an increase of 48% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.43%, registering an 11.76% decline from July 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.14%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 26.21% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s travel & tourism industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

Deutsche Bahn posted 51 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 41.67% over the previous month, followed by Sixt with 34 jobs and a 209.09% growth. Deutsche Lufthansa with 17 IT jobs and FlixMobility with 17 jobs, recorded an 88.89% flat growth and a 34.62% decrease, respectively, while TUI recorded a decline of 47.62% with 11 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.64%, down by 1.01% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 28.3% share, registered an increase of 125% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 8.18% share, up 44.44% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.89%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
