4. AHLA’s tweet on business meal and entertainment deduction credit

The American Hotel & Lodging Association, an industry trade group, tweeted thanking Senator Tim Scott for including the business meal and entertainment deduction credit under the Health, Economic Assistance, Liability Protection and Schools (HEALS) Act.

The HEALS Act was introduced by the Republicans to provide $1tn in funding to deal with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The act includes provision of up to 100% deduction for business meals until the end of 2020.

Simon Calder, a travel news writer, shared an article on the Barbados Ministry of Tourism placing the UK under the high-risk category due to rising number of infections in the country. The UK joined a list of countries under this category including Brazil, the US, France and Spain.

The Points Guy, a travel blog founded by Brian Kelly, tweeted an article on United Airlines eliminating change fees, which was applied for paying any difference between an existing and new ticket. The fees was aimed at increasing the ancillary revenues of airlines.

Simon Calder tweeted on cruise liner P&O Cruises announcing its plans to pause its cruise operations until early 2021 due to the increasing restrictions on travel from the UK owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
