Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 28%, emerged as the top cybersecurity-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 12% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 19% in Q4 2023, with new job postings dropping by 10% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent cybersecurity roles include Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 6% share in Q4 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 35% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Marriott International, Accor, Walt Disney, Uber Technologies, and Deutsche Lufthansa. Together they accounted for a combined share of 35% of all cybersecurity-related new jobs in the travel and tourism industry.

Marriott International posted 117 cybersecurity-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Accor 114 jobs, Walt Disney 75 jobs, Uber Technologies 59 jobs, and Deutsche Lufthansa 42 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 35.54% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023

The largest share of cybersecurity-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 35.54% followed by the UK (13.07%) and Germany (7.67%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points lower than the 37.25% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
