Personal Care and Service Occupations drive personalization-related hiring activity

Personal Care and Service Occupations, with a share of 21%, emerged as the top personalization-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 13% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 19% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 15% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent personalization roles include Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 9% share in Q3 2023, Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 9% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 60% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Marriott International, Accor, Hilton Worldwide, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Together they accounted for a combined share of 60% of all personalization-related new jobs in the travel and tourism industry.

Marriott International posted 1,126 personalization-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Accor 851 jobs, Hilton Worldwide 374 jobs, Marriott Vacations Worldwide 248 jobs, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts 221 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 41.57% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023

The largest share of personalization-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 41.57% followed by the UK (8.88%) and the UAE (5.53%). The share represented by the US was seven percentage points lower than the 48.36% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
