The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 43.94% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.85% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 4.06% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.46% in June 2021, a 29.41% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 27.73% share, an increase of 106.25% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.76%, registering a 75% rise from May 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.52%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 59.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK travel & tourism industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Whitbread posted 21 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 600% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 17 jobs and a 15% drop. Greene King with 16 IT jobs and William Hill with 11 jobs, recorded a 220% growth and a 15.38% decline, respectively, while Deutsche Bahn recorded a 66.67% an increase with 10 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.71%, up by 22.22% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.85% share, a growth of 44.44% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.45% share, up 33.33% over May 2021.
