July 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.3% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.76% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.47% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 61.06% in July 2022, a 22.09% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.87% in July 2022, marking a 14.29% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.58% in July 2022, a 6.38% drop from June 2022.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 27.16% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s travel & tourism industry during July 2022 over previous month.

A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 97 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 21.25% over the previous month, followed by The Walt Disney with 55 jobs and a 55.65% drop. Expedia Group with 30 IT jobs and Capital A with 27 jobs, recorded an 114.29% rise and a 64% drop, respectively, while Booking Holdings recorded a 12.9% decline with 27 job postings during July 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s travel & tourism industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 54.09% share in July 2022, a 25% decrease over June 2022. Australia featured next with a 13.22% share, up 7.84% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 10.58% share, a drop of 21.43% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.66%, down by 13.78% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.88% share, registered a decline of 27.2% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.46% share, down 21.13% over June 2022.
