Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.27% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.39% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.14% in October 2022, registering a 26.23% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 35.23% share, an increase of 72.22% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.82%, registering a 200% rise from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.68%, down 58.33% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 14.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s travel & tourism industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Toronto Transit Commission posted 17 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 325% over the previous month, followed by Bally’s with 17 jobs and a 61.36% drop. Sonder with 10 IT jobs and Booking Holdings with 8 jobs, recorded a 9.09% decline and a 33.33% growth, respectively, while Canadian Pacific Railway recorded an increase of 60% with 8 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.82%, down by 8.86% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.36% share, registered a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.68% share, down 37.5% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.14%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
