The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.94% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.62% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.49% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s travel & tourism industry in June 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.46% in June 2022, registering a 2.56% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 13.85% share, an increase of 12.5% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 12.31%, registering a 33.33% rise from May 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 9.23%, up 20% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.94% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s travel & tourism industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
Canadian Pacific Railway posted 10 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 16.67% over the previous month, followed by RVezy with 7 jobs and a 600% growth. WestJet Airlines with 6 IT jobs and Booking Holdings with 5 jobs, recorded a 14.29% decline and a 16.67% decrease, respectively, while Flight Centre Travel Group recorded a decline of 37.5% with 5 job postings during June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.77%, down by 4.17% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20% share, registered a decline of 7.14% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.23% share, up 20% over May 2022.
