June 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.71% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.44% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 54.41% in June 2022, a 38.64% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.37% in June 2022, marking a 16.67% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.85% in June 2022, a 38.55% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 19.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during June 2022 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 46 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 28.13% over the previous month, followed by Deutsche Lufthansa with 45 jobs and a 2.17% drop. Deutsche Bahn with 40 IT jobs and Flix with 39 jobs, recorded a 37.5% drop and a 23.53% drop, respectively, while TUI recorded a 72.73% increase with 19 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 30.48% share in June 2022, a 29.24% decrease over May 2022. Germany featured next with a 26.7% share, down 29.33% over the previous month. Denmark recorded a 5.79% share, a drop of 28.13% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.29%, down by 30.34% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.87% share, registered a decline of 44.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.84% share, down 30.88% over May 2022.
