Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 48.77% in October 2022, a 15.41% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 19.66% in October 2022, marking a 7.14% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.64% in October 2022, a 1.12% drop from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 5.59% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Deutsche Bahn posted 74 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 5.71% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 71 jobs and a 9.23% growth. Deutsche Lufthansa with 64 IT jobs and Bally’s with 48 jobs, recorded a 12.33% drop and a 37.66% drop, respectively, while TripAdvisor recorded a 57.89% increase with 30 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 30.43% share in October 2022, a 21.84% decrease over September 2022. Germany featured next with a 29.11% share, up 1.99% over the previous month. Denmark recorded a 4.91% share, a drop of 33.33% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.43%, down by 16.59% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.64% share, registered a growth of 1.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 14.18% share, down 21.05% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.76%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
