July 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.4% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 54.2% in July 2022, a 16.61% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.3% in July 2022, marking a 25% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.55% in July 2022, a 27.42% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 48.62% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Deutsche Lufthansa posted 121 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 98.36% over the previous month, followed by Deutsche Bahn with 59 jobs and a 25.53% growth. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 58 IT jobs and Flix with 47 jobs, recorded a 13.73% rise and a 7.84% drop, respectively, while Swiss Federal Railways recorded a 387.5% increase with 39 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 31.73% share in July 2022, a 38.06% increase over June 2022. The UK featured next with an 18.87% share, down 20.29% over the previous month. Switzerland recorded an 8.75% share, a growth of 155% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.9%, up by 23.55% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.92% share, registered a growth of 10.13% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.18% share, up 24.56% over June 2022.
