February 2022 has seen an increase of 3.81% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 6.51% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.48% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 60.81% in February 2022, a 13.54% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 17.3% in February 2022, marking a 16.05% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.94% in February 2022, an 11.34% drop from January 2022.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 28.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Deutsche Lufthansa posted 90 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 38.46% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 84 jobs and a 10.64% drop. FlixMobility with 82 IT jobs and Deutsche Bahn with 59 jobs, recorded a 256.52% rise and an 18.06% drop, respectively, while TUI recorded a 100% increase with 30 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 33.84% share in February 2022, a 0.76% increase over January 2022. The UK featured next with a 19.85% share, down 7.14% over the previous month. France recorded an 8.14% share, a drop of 15.79% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.01%, down by 0.18% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.54% share, registered a growth of 4% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.94% share, up 21.13% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.51%, recording a month-on-month decline of 42.86%.
