India’s travel & tourism industry registered a 1.6% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.03% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 17.26% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.96% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.37% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 71.14% in June 2022, registering a 2.34% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.82% share, an increase of 47.83% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.5%, registering a 36% decline from May 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.28%, down 27.78% over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 8.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

The Walt Disney posted 115 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 144.68% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 54 jobs and a 10.2% growth. Uber Technologies with 14 IT jobs and Expedia Group with 12 jobs, recorded a 72% decline and a 63.64% decrease, respectively, while Genting Group recorded a flat growth with 9 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.28%, down by 14.47% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 34.55% share, registered an increase of 57.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.16% share, down 16.67% over May 2022.
