
India’s travel & tourism industry registered a 6.8% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.89% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 16.75% share in April 2022, recording an increase of 1.18% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.98% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry in April 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 85.08% in April 2022, registering a 74.31% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 6.44% share, an increase of 35.71% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.05%, registering a 30.77% decline from March 2022.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 2.71% growth over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 143.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry during April 2022 over March 2022.
Uber Technologies posted 170 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Expedia Group with 47 jobs and a 123.81% growth. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 25 IT jobs and The Walt Disney with 24 jobs, recorded a 19.35% decline and a 53.85% decrease, respectively, while Capital A recorded a flat growth with 9 job postings during April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.83%, up by 53.73% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.39% share, registered an increase of 76.92% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.78% share, up 122.22% over March 2022.
