June 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.05% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.18% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 52% in June 2022, a 55.17% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 12% in June 2022, marking a 25% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12% in June 2022, a flat growth from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 60.42% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Uber Technologies posted 6 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 70% over the previous month, followed by Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 6 jobs and a 60% drop. The Emirates Group with 4 IT jobs and DP World with 2 jobs, recorded a 63.64% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Hotelbeds S.L.U. recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 44% share in June 2022, a 31.25% decrease over May 2022. Qatar featured next with a 28% share, down 56.25% over the previous month. Egypt recorded an 8% share, a drop of 83.33% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76%, down by 48.65% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16% share, registered a decline of 75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8% share, down 66.67% over May 2022.
