The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 5.88% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during December 2021 over previous month.

Qatar Airways Group QCSC posted 14 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 27.27% over the previous month, followed by The Emirates Group with 7 jobs and a 600% growth. Expedia Group with 6 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 6 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 71.43% drop, respectively, while Accor recorded a 200% increase with 3 job postings during December 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry

United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 33.33% share in December 2021, a 70% increase over November 2021. Qatar featured next with a 27.45% share, up 16.67% over the previous month. Jordan recorded a 13.73% share, a drop of 50% compared with November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.78%, down by 34.04% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.53% share, registered a decline of 40% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.73% share, up 16.67% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.96%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
