Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 63.53% in October 2021, a 68.75% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 12.94% in October 2021, marking a 21.43% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.41% in October 2021, a 60% rise from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 136% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Uber Technologies posted 30 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 17 jobs and an 112.5% growth. Expedia Group with 5 IT jobs and Accor with 4 jobs, recorded a 16.67% drop and a 300% rise, respectively, while ZIM Integrated Shipping Services recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 24.71% share in October 2021, a 12.5% decrease over September 2021. Egypt featured next with a 21.18% share, up 260% over the previous month. Qatar recorded a 20% share, a growth of 70% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.82%, up by 19.05% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.24% share, registered a growth of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.94% share, up 22.22% over September 2021.
