February 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.99% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.06% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.9% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 68.89% in February 2022, a 342.86% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.85% in February 2022, marking a 60% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.63% in February 2022, a 333.33% rise from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 465% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Uber Technologies posted 69 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 1280% over the previous month, followed by Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 19 jobs and a 58.33% growth. The Emirates Group with 13 IT jobs and Aramex with 7 jobs, recorded a 333.33% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Accor recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 29.63% share in February 2022, a 100% increase over January 2022. Jordan featured next with a 22.96% share, up 675% over the previous month. Qatar recorded a 17.04% share, a growth of 109.09% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.96%, up by 269.57% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.85% share, registered a growth of 258.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.19% share, down 22.22% over January 2022.
