IT jobs accounted for a 1.79% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering an increase of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 27.87% in September 2022, a 41.67% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 26.23% in September 2022, marking a 40.74% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 24.59% in September 2022, an 87.5% rise from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 15.91% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during September 2022 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 17 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 142.86% over the previous month, followed by Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 12 jobs and a flat growth. The Emirates Group with 9 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 9 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a 50% rise, respectively, while DP World recorded a 300% increase with 4 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 31.15% share in September 2022, a 13.64% decrease over August 2022. Morocco featured next with a 26.23% share, up 220% over the previous month. Qatar recorded a 24.59% share, a growth of 7.14% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.66%, up by 19.35% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.87% share, registered a growth of 6.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.48% share, up 133.33% over August 2022.
