July 2022 has seen an increase of 4.04% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.7% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.35% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 47.98% in July 2022, a 1.24% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.43% in July 2022, marking a 2.45% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 9.2% in July 2022, a 17.58% rise from June 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 8.08% in July 2022, a 5.05% decline over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 11.53% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s travel & tourism industry during July 2022 over previous month.
The Walt Disney posted 326 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 45.54% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 100 jobs and a 12.28% drop. Marriott International with 62 IT jobs and National Railroad Passenger with 60 jobs, recorded an 11.43% drop and a 15.38% rise, respectively, while Delta Air Lines recorded a 39.13% decline with 42 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s travel & tourism industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 94.75% share in July 2022, a 0.55% increase over June 2022. Canada featured next with a 4.56% share, down 25.35% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.69% share, a growth of 166.67% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.14%, down by 1.32% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.79% share, registered a growth of 2.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.9% share, down 2.6% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
