October 2021 has seen an increase of 1.66% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 11.16% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.41% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 87.01% in October 2021, a 17.54% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 6.49% in October 2021, marking a 50% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 3.9% in October 2021, a 50% drop from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s apparel industry during October 2021 over previous month.

Amazon posted 75 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 15.38% over the previous month, followed by adidas with 2 jobs and a 75% drop.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 57.14% share in October 2021, a 12.82% increase over September 2021. Argentina featured next with a 14.29% share, up 1000% over the previous month. Colombia recorded a 14.29% share, a drop of 15.38% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 50.65%, up by 8.33% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 40.26% share, registered a growth of 6.9% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.09% share, down 36.36% over September 2021.
