October 2021 has seen a decrease of 2.55% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 9.29% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 1% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 39.47% in October 2021, a 25% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 31.58% in October 2021, marking a 140% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 13.16% in October 2021, a 66.67% rise from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s auto industry during October 2021 over previous month.

Robert Bosch posted 27 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 3.85% over the previous month, followed by AB Volvo with 9 jobs and a 125% growth. Oshkosh with 1 IT job and General Motors with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 100% share in October 2021, a 22.58% increase over September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.68%, up by 16.67% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.68% share, registered a growth of 12.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.63% share, down 66.67% over September 2021.
