September 2022 has seen an increase of 4.81% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.97% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.99% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 42.86% in September 2022, a 62.5% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 28.57% in September 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.29% in September 2022, a 60% drop from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 35.29% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry during September 2022 over previous month.

A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 3 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 70% over the previous month, followed by TripAdvisor with 3 jobs and a flat growth. Deutsche Lufthansa with 2 IT jobs and BCD Travel Services with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 71.43% drop, respectively, while Accor recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during September 2022.

Argentina commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 28.57% share in September 2022, a 50% decrease over August 2022. Brazil featured next with a 21.43% share, down 50% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 14.29% share, a drop of 71.43% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 92.86%, down by 56.67% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 7.14% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.
