Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 48.48% in August 2022, a 128.57% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 15.15% in August 2022, marking a 150% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.12% in August 2022, a 300% rise from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 163.64% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry during August 2022 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 10 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by BCD Travel Services with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. The Walt Disney with 5 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 4 jobs, recorded a 150% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Gateway Casinos & Entertainment recorded a 200% increase with 3 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry
Argentina commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 24.24% share in August 2022, a 300% increase over July 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 21.21% share, up 75% over the previous month. Brazil recorded an 18.18% share, a growth of 500% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 87.88%, up by 163.64% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 6.06% share, registered a growth of 100% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.06% share, flat growth over July 2022.
