
The UK’s travel & tourism industry registered a 1.9% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.4% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.36% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.58% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.15% in October 2021, registering an 18.66% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.27% share, an increase of 126.67% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.96%, registering a 24.24% decline from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.61%, up 63.64% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 0.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Expedia Group posted 41 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 21.15% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 36 jobs and a 20% growth. Flutter Entertainment with 20 IT jobs and William Hill with 14 jobs, recorded a 150% flat growth and a 48.15% decrease, respectively, while Trip Group recorded an increase of 140% with 12 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.55%, down by 9.27% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with an 18.66% share, registered an increase of 18.18% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15.79% share, up 17.86% over September 2021.
