The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.05% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.23% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.8% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 62.23% in September 2021, registering a 12.03% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.43% share, a decrease of 23.68% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 7.98%, registering an 11.76% decline from August 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 5.32%, down 67.74% over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 55.81% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Expedia Group posted 48 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 30 jobs and a 9.09% drop. William Hill with 27 IT jobs and Greene King with 18 jobs, recorded a 3.85% flat growth and a 14.29% decrease, respectively, while easyJet recorded an increase of 83.33% with 11 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.34%, down by 20% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 13.83% share, registered a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.83% share, up 18.18% over August 2021.
