This compares to a 171% increase versus Q3 2021.

Notably, Supervisors of Food Preparation and Serving Workers jobs accounted for an 8% share of the global travel and tourism industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 8% over the prior quarter.

Supervisors of Food Preparation and Serving Workers, with a share of 8%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 8% quarter-on-quarter. General and Operations Managers came in second with a share of 7% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 4% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Cooks with a 4% share in Q3 2022, Food Service Managers with a 3% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 29% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Accor and Hyatt Hotels. Together they accounted for a combined share of 29% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the travel and tourism industry.

Marriott International posted 4,902 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Hilton Worldwide Holdings 1,840 jobs, Accor 1,283 jobs, and Hyatt Hotels 1,158 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 66% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 66% followed by the UK (6%) and Canada (4%). The share represented by the US was four percentage points lower than the 71% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
