Asia Pacific’s five largest hotel construction projects that commenced in Q3 2021

Here are Asia Pacific’s five largest hotel construction projects that were initiated in Q3 2021, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Zhangzhou Development Zone Shuangyu Island Secondary Development – $4,335m

The project involves construction of the Shuangyu Island in Zhangzhou, Fujian, China

Construction work started in Q3 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q3 2025.

The project aims to promote the image and quality of coastal tourism and provide leisure and entertainment facilities in the region.

2. Hamamatsucho Shibaura 1 Chome Redevelopment – $3,170m

The project involves the construction of a 550,000m2 mixed-use complex comprising of two 232.55m tall buildings each on 4ha of land in Minato-Ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2021 and is expected to finish in Q4 2030.

It is located in the Hamamatsucho district, close to a station for the magnetic-levitation bullet train service.

3. Wuhan Fosun Bund Center T1 – $730m

The project involves the construction of Fosun Bund Center T1 in Wuhan, Hubei, China.

Construction work started in Q3 2021 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2025.

The project aims to provide better commercial facilities in the region.

4. Nihonbashi Naka District Urban Redevelopment – $308m

The project involves the construction of a 380,300m2 mixed-use complex on 3ha of land in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2025.

The project aims to provide better commercial, leisure, and residential facilities in the region.

5. Otemae 1-Chome Commercial Tower – $200m

The project involves the construction of a 21-story above-ground and one-story below-ground, 97.93m commercial tower with a floor area of 38,809.55m2 on 0.43ha of land in Osaka-shi, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

Construction work started in Q3 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2023.

The project’s main aim is to provide better hotel and office facilities in the region.
