Accor Group, in partnership with Katara Hospitality, has announced the opening of five-star Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha.

For the Rixos Hotels brand, the new property is claimed to be the first five-star All-Inclusive hotel in Doha.

Ever since it opened 1973 as the Gulf Hotel, the building has become a landmark in the city.

Now this new venture will see the property being reimagined by providing luxurious amenities with an All-Inclusive concept under the Rixos brand name.

Rixos Hotels chairman of the board of directors Fettah Tamince said: “This iconic landmark is the ideal venue to introduce Rixos and its All-Inclusive concept to Qatar. Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha perfectly balances the striking contrast between the 1970’s architecture of one of Doha’s most recognised landmarks with all the style and functionality that is expected of a leading 21st-century luxury hotel.”

Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha features two towers, which together have around 378 luxurious rooms and suites.

Guest rooms bring together comfort with edge technology to meet the needs of every guest – from corporate travellers to socialites.

The hotel features the brand’s signature Anjana Spa, and seven dining outlets, exclusive sports club, and Rixy Kids Club.

Among the seven dining outlets include Farmhouse, an all-day dining restaurant that offers Turkish cuisine made with farm-fresh ingredients; Rasa that presents Indian classics with a modern take; Akte Pier 51 that offers an eclectic array of cuisines; Mr.Tailor,  a steakhouse; Crust, a 24-hour lobby lounge featuring a bakery with desserts.

Located close to the Doha International Airport, the hotel is a landmark on the Doha coastline and will be easily accessible to business travellers and also serves as a lifestyle destination.

Rixos Gulf Doha Hotel general manager Sherif Kasseb said: “The Qatari market is ready for an All-Inclusive destination where guests’ only concern is to sit back and unwind while their every need is attended to. Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha is fulling this market gap and will soon become the go-to destination for business travelers and vacationers alike. We look forward to welcoming guests to our hotel.”

Last week, Accor announced that it is expanding its portfolio of hotels and resorts in Indonesia with the signing of a new ibis Styles hotel at BSD City in Greater Jakarta.
