The collaboration follows the signing of Novotel Nouakchott in Mauritania, a newly built project with 154 rooms, and Mövenpick Moroni in Comoros, a conversion featuring 159 rooms, with four further projects planned for key destinations, according to a release posted on Zawya.

Accor Middle East, Africa and Türkiye premium, midscale and economy division chief development officer Maya Ziade said: “This development agreement with Mayan Properties is a strong step forward in our commitment to grow across Sub-Saharan Africa.

“With Novotel Nouakchott and Mövenpick Moroni signed, and three more hotels to follow, we are creating the foundation for a diversified portfolio that addresses real market needs and supports the long-term growth of Africa’s tourism industry.”

The agreement supports Accor’s strategy to increase its operations in Sub-Saharan Africa and aligns with Mayan Properties’ investment approach in the region’s tourism industry.
