French hospitality giant Accor has reached a partnership with Cebu Landmasters Inc (CLI) to operate an international hotel in the Philippines.

Known as Mercure Cebu Downtown, the hotel will be located at the heart of downtown Cebu City’s heritage trail.

It will have 182 rooms, ballroom and meeting rooms for social and business gatherings.

Mercure Cebu Downtown will also feature a restaurant, executive floor lounge, swimming pool and rooftop bar.

Slated to open in 2024, the hotel is part of a new mixed-use development project, Patria de Cebu, which is a collaboration between CLI and the Archdiocese of Cebu.

Covering 21,000m2 gross floor area, Patria de Cebu will offer 4,320m2 of food, dining, and entertainment spaces and 4,400m2 of offices.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, CLI announced the ground-breaking of the development project.

CLI chief executive officer Jose Soberano III said: “The final design of Patria de Cebu is a result of a collaboration between the Archdiocese of Cebu, CLI and key stakeholders. It is a celebration of Cebuano history and culture in today’s setting.”

In February this year, CLI partnered with Accor on a five-star luxury hotel that will be situated in the Cebu Business Park.

Sofitel Cebu City will be a 195-room hotel set to debut in 2025.

Accor has a pipeline of 17 committed projects across the Philippines.

Earlier this month, Accor has announced the opening of SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences in Dubai.
