Accor has entered a partnership with Shree Kamalam Elite Resorts to open a Grand Mercure-branded property in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
Grand Mercure Jaipur Kukas, which is scheduled to open in 2028 in Jaipur city, will mark the eighth Grand Mercure property in the country.
The six-storey property spans more than 16,522m² and will feature 160 rooms.
It will have three food and beverage outlets, including a bar, a restaurant, and a speciality restaurant.
The property will also offer 2,000m² of event space comprising a conference room and two banquet halls, for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
Other amenities to be provided at the property include a spa and salon, a swimming pool and a gym.
Accor India and South Asia development vice-president Aniruddh Kumar said: “We are pleased to add Grand Mercure Jaipur Kukas to our growing portfolio in India.
“With its contemporary style and culturally immersive vibe, the hotel is a perfect fit for this enchanting destination. We look forward to showcasing the authentic spirit of Rajasthan to our experience-seeking domestic and international visitors.”
Shree Kamalam Elite Resorts shareholder Madan Meena said: “As the proud partners of Accor in launching Grand Mercure Jaipur Kukas, we are excited to contribute to Jaipur’s hospitality landscape.
“This property will reflect royalty of the bygone era of Jaipur and will embody the essence of a Rajputana lifestyle with a global mindset.”
Grand Mercure is a brand designed for modern travellers seeking both premium comforts and cultural connections.
Accor’s portfolio in India currently comprises 61 properties operating under various brands including ibis, Fairmont, Mercure, Novotel, Pullman, Raffles and Sofitel.
The latest addition comes after the company unveiled a new extended stay concept under the Novotel brand in Bangkok, Thailand, last December.
The Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy property aims to provide a ‘home away from home’ experience for travellers, regardless of the length of their stay.
