Ireland-based hospitality group The Address Collective has further expanded its portfolio with its first property in Scotland, The Address Glasgow, which is expected to open early next year.

It will be the group’s first property outside of Ireland and fifth overall.

The six-storey property was originally built for Lancashire Insurance Company in the 1890s and has recently undergone a £9m ($11.27m) renovation.

It will be housed within the former Pocotel Hotel, which was purchased by The Address Collective for £4.5m in October 2022.

The newly renovated property features 95 rooms and caters to both business as well as leisure travellers.

Guests can dine at the hotel’s open-plan eatery and cocktail bar, called North, which will serve international cuisine along with a selection of cocktails, craft beers and wines.

The property will also boast amenities such as a wellness spa featuring a gym, heated loungers, a plunge pool and a Himalayan salt rock sauna.

The four-star hotel was designed by Address Collective owners Brian and Ciara McGettigan.

Brian McGettigan said: “Our commitment to the city of Glasgow goes beyond hospitality. We’re creating over 80 jobs and investing in the local community because we believe in the bright future of this dynamic city.

“We’ve chosen Glasgow because we love the people and the culture and can’t wait to raise the bar for luxury stays in Scotland.”

Currently, the hotel group’s portfolio includes The Address Connolly in Dublin, The Address Citywest in Dublin, The Address Cork and The Address Sligo, which is set to open in March 2024.

The group’s sixth property, called The Address Capel Street, is expected to open in the first half of 2025 in Dublin, Ireland.
